Courses Offered at University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) for 2027

The University of KwaZulu-Natal came into being in 2004 when the University of Natal and the University of Durban-Westville were combined into a single institution serving the province. It now teaches and researches across five distinct campuses — Edgewood, Howard College, the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, Pietermaritzburg and Westville — with each site specialising in particular fields such as teacher education, engineering and law, medicine, agriculture, or business and science. Study is organised under four colleges: Agriculture, Engineering and Science; Health Sciences; Humanities; and Law and Management Studies, giving students access to a broad spread of professional and general degree options. The university positions itself as an internationally engaged, research-intensive institution while also running access and extended-curriculum programmes aimed at widening participation for students from historically disadvantaged schools.
