Courses Offered at University of Venda (Univen) for 2027

Founded in 1982 in Thohoyandou in Limpopo's Vhembe district, the University of Venda has grown from a young regional institution into a comprehensive public university serving over 16,000 students. It is organised into four faculties covering health sciences; humanities, social sciences and education; management, commerce and law; and science, engineering and agriculture, and it places particular emphasis on programmes connected to rural development, agriculture and the environment given its setting in a largely rural, biodiverse part of South Africa. The university combines residence life for thousands of students with modern IT infrastructure, extensive library resources and a broad range of sporting and student-support services, positioning itself as an engaged, community-connected centre of teaching and research.
