Rhodes University is a contact university deliberately situated away from a major metropolitan centre, which the institution presents as an advantage for focused study and close staff-student relationships. It offers undergraduate programmes through its Commerce, Education, Humanities, Law, Pharmacy and Science faculties, with the Faculty of Humanities being the largest in terms of academic departments and subject choice. Teaching is delivered by research-active academics and supported by an extensive residence system, and the university places notable emphasis on community engagement, internationalisation, and developing graduates with ethical and leadership qualities, reflected in its motto 'Where Leaders Learn'.

Entry
Admission Requirements at RU
Two things decide an offer: your APS, and the specific subjects a programme requires at a minimum level. A high APS does not help if a compulsory subject is missing, so check both on the course page before you apply.
We don't yet hold a numeric APS for any RU programme. The institution still scores applications, so treat each course page as the authority on what that qualification asks for, and confirm it with the faculty before you apply.
NQF levels offered
Qualifications here sit at 2 different NQF levels. The level tells you what a qualification is worth and what it lets you study next.
