Cape Peninsula University of Technology is a public university of technology headquartered in Cape Town, Western Cape, formed through the merger of two earlier technikons and known for its vocationally oriented, industry-linked qualifications. Within its Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, the university runs a wide range of three-year diplomas alongside extended (four-year) versions of many of them for students who need an additional foundational year, spanning fields such as accounting, hospitality, marketing, human resources, public administration, tourism and real estate. Programmes combine classroom theory with practical and work-based components, and many allow part-time study for students already employed in a related field. The university positions itself around preparing graduates for immediate employability as well as further study.

CPUT Courses With a Low APS Requirement

10 of the 44 courses listed here ask for an APS of 24 or lower, starting at 22. A low APS still does not override subject requirements, so open the course page and check which subjects it asks for at what level.

Entry

Admission Requirements at CPUT

Two things decide an offer: your APS, and the specific subjects a programme requires at a minimum level. A high APS does not help if a compulsory subject is missing, so check both on the course page before you apply.

Across the 44 courses listed here, APS requirements run from 22 up to 38. Use the APS tool above to filter the list to what you qualify for right now.

APS requirements at CPUT, by band

Of the 44 courses listed here, 27 publish a minimum APS. This is how they spread:

APS neededCoursesWhat this means
20 to 24 10 Most diplomas and many higher certificates.
25 to 29 15 Standard degree entry for many faculties.
35 to 42 2 The most competitive programmes, typically health sciences and engineering.

17 courses do not publish a numeric APS. CPUT may score those differently, so the course page is the authority on what each one needs.
