About This Course
The BBA in Management builds the practical and theoretical skills needed to manage people and operations in manufacturing, retail and service businesses. It is a 360-credit degree at NQF Level 7 (SAQA ID 84806), offered through contact classes in Somerset West.
How the degree is structured:
- Year 1: foundation business subjects such as accounting, principles of management, end-user computing, business mathematics and English
- Year 2: economics, human resource management, marketing, project management and business communication, plus work-integrated learning
- Year 3: finance, operations management, entrepreneurship, research methods, organisational behaviour, business ethics and strategic management
Alongside the business modules, students take the college's values and character enrichment modules that run through all HCHE degrees. The programme suits school leavers who see themselves running a department, a project or their own business, and who want a broad grounding across the main areas of management rather than a narrow specialisation.
Learners who do not meet the degree entry rules can start with the college's foundation year. Graduates can apply for honours or postgraduate study in management and, with work experience, an MBA.
