The IIE Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering is a professional engineering degree endorsed by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), which is a signatory of the Washington Accord. It grew out of the engineering school built up at IIE MSA and is taught at Ruimsig Johannesburg, Durban Westville and Cape Town Newlands. There are two routes: a standard four-year programme, and a five-year extended curriculum for students whose maths and science marks are slightly lower. Both lead to the same degree.

- Year 1: engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics and design, plus modules on engineering in society and practice
- Year 2: advanced mathematics, materials and introductions to geotechnical, structural, water and infrastructure engineering
