About this course

The Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting, often called the CTA, is a SAICA-accredited 120-credit qualification at NQF level 8 (SAQA ID 108930), offered by Milpark (incorporating CA Connect). It is the step between an accredited BCom in Accounting and SAICA's Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC), the first professional exam on the road to becoming a Chartered Accountant, CA(SA).

All four compulsory modules must be passed:
- Financial Reporting
- Taxation
- Management Accounting and Finance
- Corporate Governance and Auditing

You can take all four in one year, or spread the work over two years on a half workload (Management Accounting and Finance plus Corporate Governance and Auditing first, then the rest).

Tuition is completely online, with short video lessons, quizzes, practice questions with feedback, weekly live group discussions and one-on-one sessions with lecturers. Assessments can be written online or at venues across South Africa and Namibia. Mentoring, academic support and psychosocial support are also available.
