IIE Higher Certificate in Legal Studies Course Requirements at IIE Rosebank

Applicants require a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a Higher Certificate endorsement and a minimum of 40% in English; or a National Certificate (Vocational) [NC(V)] Higher Certificate pass with 40% in English; or a Senior Certificate (SC) with endorsement and 40% in English; or an SC(a) with a Higher Certificate pass and 40% in English. International applicants require a SAQA Evaluation Certificate confirming NSC Level 4 equivalence with a minimum of 40% in English. Alternative access routes include Mature Age Exemption Category 5 (age 23+, attempted Senior Certificate, three years' work experience, demonstrated ability and adequate communication skills); Category 6 (age 45+ at first registration, admitted on age alone); Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) via formal/informal qualification certificates and a CV; GED (SAQA Evaluation Certificate with NSC Level 4 equivalence plus minimum scores of 165/200 for Reasoning through Language Arts and 145/200 for other subjects); and an OQSF Level 4 120-credit cognate qualification (Head of Faculty assessment) or IEB International Secondary Certificate (Higher Certificate pass plus SAQA NQF Level 4 evaluation).
