About this course
The BCom (Accounting) is Akademia's main accounting degree and lays the foundation for careers in accounting, auditing and tax. It is an NQF level 7 qualification of 415 credits (SAQA ID 110824).
It is aimed at strong students with good marks in Mathematics. It can be studied full-time at the Pretoria and Paarl campuses or through the after-hours distance model. Where places are limited, selection is based on merit.

The degree is recognised by several professional bodies, including ACCA, CIMA, CIBA, SAIPA and SAIBA, and meets FSCA requirements for certain financial services roles. This gives graduates routes to local and international accounting designations.
Graduates can continue to the Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation or the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Accounting.
