About this course
This QCTO occupational certificate (SAQA ID 101408, NQF Level 5) prepares you to set up, maintain and repair computers and support their users. It covers hardware and software troubleshooting, installing and configuring desktops and laptops, basic networking, customer service and sustainable technology practices. You can study through day classes (full-time, a blend of on-campus and virtual learning) or evening and Saturday classes (part-time).
In CTU's Technical IT Support and Cybersecurity pathway, the qualification is paired with CompTIA A+ (220-1101 and 220-1102) and CompTIA Tech+ and can progress to Cybersecurity Practitioner. It is an occupational qualification registered with the QCTO, so you complete knowledge, practical and workplace components and then write an external integrated summative assessment (EISA) to be certified. It suits hands-on learners who like fixing things and helping people.
