About this course
The Cybersecurity Practitioner qualification (SAQA ID 122068, NQF Level 6) is listed in CTU's 2027 prospectus as the senior step in its cybersecurity pathways. It builds on analyst-level skills with deeper work in threat detection, incident response, penetration testing and security operations.
CTU offers it within two routes:
- Cybersecurity Analyst Professional: Cloud Administrator, then Cybersecurity Analyst, then Cybersecurity Practitioner (about three years from matric).
- Technical IT Support and Cybersecurity: Computer Technician, then Cybersecurity Practitioner, with CompTIA A+, Tech+, PenTest+ and Microsoft SC-200 certifications.
It is an occupational qualification registered with the QCTO, so you complete knowledge, practical and workplace components and then write an external integrated summative assessment (EISA) to be certified. It can lead on to CTU's Chief Information Officer Cybersecurity pathway at NQF Level 7.
