Courses Offered at CTU Training Solutions (CTU) for 2027

CTU Training Solutions is a private college that has been training people for technology and business careers since 1987. It began as a computer training company and has grown into a national group with 12 campuses, known for combining South African qualifications with international vendor certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, AWS, Cisco, Adobe and Autodesk.

CTU works through two divisions. CTU Career offers qualifications for school leavers and adults, while Corporate Training Unlimited provides short courses, learnerships, bursary programmes and customised training for companies.

Registration and accreditation

CTU is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution (registration number 2014/HE07/004) and is also registered as a private college (2018/FE07/004). Its higher education programmes are accredited by the Council on Higher Education, its occupational qualifications fall under the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), and it is accredited with the MICT SETA (ACC/2006/07/186) and other SETAs.

What you can study

Qualifications are grouped into four areas:
- Information Technology: software development and engineering, AI, data science, IoT, cloud, cybersecurity, computer technician, extended reality and a Diploma in IT Network Design and Administration.
- Design: Diploma in Visual Communication, Higher Certificate in Graphic Design, CAD office practice and Architectural Draughtsperson.
- Business Management and Humanities: BBA in Project Management, Higher Certificate in Management, Project Manager, a three-level HR pathway and Early Childhood Development.
- Engineering and Sustainability: Environmental Science Technician. New mechanical and electrical occupational qualifications are planned.

Many of the newer programmes are QCTO occupational certificates. These combine theory, practical work and workplace learning, and end with an external assessment. CTU groups them into multi-year pathways, for example Full Stack Developer (Software Developer, then Software Engineer) or Cybersecurity Analyst Professional (Cloud Administrator, then Cybersecurity Analyst, then Cybersecurity Practitioner), so learners can build up qualifications and certifications year by year. Some IT pathways accept learners with a Grade 11 pass through a bridging programme.

Study modes

- Day classes (full-time), using a blend of on-campus and virtual learning.
- Evening and Saturday classes (part-time) for working people.
- Distance learning for selected programmes, such as the Project Manager qualification.

Campuses

CTU has campuses in Menlyn (Pretoria), Boksburg, Roodepoort, Three Rivers (Vereeniging) and Cresta in Gauteng, plus Century City and Stellenbosch in the Western Cape, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Potchefstroom, Durban and Polokwane. Cresta focuses on part-time study and learnerships. Not every qualification runs at every campus, so check with your nearest campus.

Fees and funding

CTU does not publish tuition fees online. You request a formal quote for the programme and study mode you want. Learnerships and bursaries are offered through the corporate division, usually in partnership with employers.

There are two intakes a year, in February and July. Apply online through the registration portal for full-time study or the separate portal for part-time and distance study, or visit a campus or an Open Day. Note that the NATED Engineering N4 to N6 programmes (civil, electrical and mechanical) closed to new registrations on 30 June 2026.
